About

Personal life

For now, Cabaret is where it’s at for me. You can be greatly moved AND reduced to tears of laughter in the space of one perfomance. It has the immediacy and connection of standup comedy, the emotional power of a play or musical, and costs a lot less than making a film!!

Hi! I’m a Sydney based writer, performer and producer.

I’ve performed in many plays and musicals since the 90s, but first wrote my own in 2013 for the Sydney Fringe Festival, called ‘In Between Days’.

A jukebox type musical, it was set in a goth sharehouse and featured songs by The Cure, Siouxsie Sioux, Morrisey, Faith No More, Echo & the Bunnymen and the Misfits.

I’ve since returned to writing and performing in live productions, but in 2015 I made a big change.

AFTRS

Having discovered I loved writing as much as performing – and seeing there weren’t enough good roles for women over 50 – I applied to study at AFTRS and was accepted.

In 2015 I studied Scriptwriting for Series TV and have written a number of half hour comedies, one hour dramas, some webisodes and a feature script. My first short film script I wrote as a class assignment, and used the holiday break to make the film in Cambodia!

Filmmaking

I’ve made two short films – both dramas.

I wrote and produced the first, The Morning After, based on an experience I had in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

The second I co-wrote and produced with Michaela Carattini, called ‘Remote Access’.

My short films have appeared in many festivals and have enabled me to travel (another great love of mine!)
